Bloggers Quilt Festival Spring 2014 Mini Quilt

Spring '14 Blogger's Quilt Festival - AmysCreativeSide.com

This year I am entering a second category with my Mini Quilt, A Quilter’s Bookshelf.  I don’t usually do minis but I was doing some bee blocks and really fell in love with the bookshelf block idea so I made some of my own.  For the titles, I incorporated selvedges.  For the quilting, I outlined the books, I did an all over swirly spiral for that “off in dreamland” kind of state you get in when you are reading a good book and I tried a wood grain type of pattern on the shelving.  I really love how it turned out.  Hope you do too!  Be sure to head on back to Bloggers Quilt Festival!

I love bookshelf blocks too. I have been thinking about a large wall quilt but you’ve inspired mini-fever. Really nice quilt.

I adore the bookshelf block and yours looks lovely- I like the dreamy quilting and the colorful prints! I’m planning to use it for a library tote bag. And maybe a throw pillow.
