S is for Saturday and on the 2nd Saturday of each month that means the St. Louis Modern Quilt Guild meeting.
This month was a lot of fun. We had a social activity and got to learn a little more about our fellow guild members. That was cool! Some fun facts I learned… we have a biochemist (wow), someone did a bicycle tour through Europe, someone is going to Italy for their 50th wedding anniversary this summer, someone that was a magician for a summer job, we have an award winning long arm quilter, two people coming out with books later in the year (Casey York & Jan Ochterbeck) , and another friend who’s going on 25 years marriage with her childhood sweetie. We followed that up with snacks, a swap and show n tell. If you are in St. Louis you should check out a meeting.
We also got to pick up our fabric for the Michael Miller fabric challenge.
Hmmm.. What to make. Better do some thinking about this one!
S is also for Son. Sammy came with me today and got McDonalds as a treat for “suffering” through the meeting. LOL
And finally, S is for Sharing. This week I’m working on a quilt using the beautiful Essentials line by Pat Bravo from Art Gallery Fabrics. If you haven’t worked with Art Gallery Fabrics you are missing out. The are so beautiful and really lovely to work with. With the higher thread count and fine weave, you really can feel the difference in this fabric.
Win a charm pack! (42) – 5″ squares.
For a chance to win, leave a comment below and let me know what your favorite fabric line – current or upcoming is …. OR who your favorite fabric designer is.
