I’ve blogged everyday this week and want to keep it going so here we go!
F is for Fabric
First I thought I’d share this lovely fabric I got the other day at my LQS. It is called Garden Party Tango by Iza Pearl Design (Melissa Ybarra) for Windham Fabrics. I hadn’t seen these before and really love them!
This beautiful collection features a mix of florals, geometrics, and solids in a nice array of colors. I am missing about half of the fabrics, so I think I will have to do a little shopping. I have a new pattern design in mind for these! Until then, I think I will just enjoy looking at them. Want to get some for yourself? I found them locally at Janie Lou Quilts. Online I saw it all over. I am missing about half of the prints – the corals and yellows – so I will have to pick some up!
F is for Flashback
Thirteen years ago in March we lived in Houston and were bracing for Hurricane Rita. People had evacuated and those who didn’t were hunkering down without a clue that it instead of the direct hit they were projecting, that Rita would turn and devastate New Orleans. We still had some tropical storm but Houston really lucked out with this one…. unlike with Ike which we would get hit by years later.
I hadn’t looked at these photos in years and didn’t even remember the rainbow. God’s sign before the devastating flood?

and finally…. F is for Food
We are still working on watching our carbs – not no carb, but minimal carbs. So far so good as I’m down 13 lbs. Yay! Tonight we are having bunless cheeseburgers with our favorite jalapeno poppers. I’m mixing it up a bit tonight though as I have some jalapeno and some veggie cream cheeses that I’m going to use. If you like spicy… you will love these. If you don’t – like my son Sammy – you don’t have to miss out! You can easily substitute the mini sweet peppers instead and they are still really good.
