WIP Wednesday and STLMQG Wow #2

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

This week I have a couple of things going on.  First, I’m working on a pattern.  I am really excited about it and can’t wait until I can share the whole thing.  It is a really fun and cheerful design and I think you will love it.  I’m using Moda Baby Jane and Bella Solids Ivory for it but it could easily translate to any fabric type or style. I’m thinking it is probably a Beginner Level 3.  I will be looking for pattern testers around first week of March.  If you think you might be interested, please let me know!

I am also working on another one of my #STLMQG WOW items. STLMQGIf you read last week, my guild is having a War On Works in Progress this year.  Before I did my Japanese Quilt along last year, I had made a lot of Japanese blocks using my scraps.  I started putting together a top by sashing them all with white but I lost interest in it.  I love the blocks but want to do something a little more interesting with them.

So I am planning on taking off the white and trying to come up with a more interesting layout.  Any ideas?

japaneseWell, thanks so much for stopping by.  I’d love to hear from you!  One random commenter a month with be drawn and receive a handmade gift from me!

Have a great day!

Krista

  1. Those blocks are lovely. I don’t have any good ideas for you for layout, but I’d work with a dark background fabric instead of white. I think it would make the colors that are in it pop.

would love to test the pattern for you!!!

Not sure on the sizes of your blocks, but I always liked the Polaroid quilts. so no sashing but you could frame it in a polaroid block to highlight the fabrics? like a photo gallery of quilts?

Comments always make my day!
