Happy Easter! Hope you have a very lovely day!
First I want to show you what I won! One of the blogs I follow is Grill Grrrl, Adventures of a Girl on the Grill. This is the blog of Robyn Medlin Linders and her adventures with grilling healthy, simple, creative recipes. If you like grilling and bbq, you will love the blog. Anyway, she had a great giveaway for some Stubbs bbq stuff and I won! Yay! Stubbs BBQ sauce is SOOOO good! Can’t wait to use it and now that the snow is all melted, I think I may use it soon! Thank you so much Robyn and Mary Kate and Stubb’s Legendary Kitchen!
Yesterday I had a fun time at the STLMQG Sew-In. First, we had a quilting lesson with Cindy Lammon. It was a great lesson and I think we all learned so much! Most people were practicing free motion quilting. I am embarrased to admit, I needed practice with straight line quilting. I’ve done free motion and boxes and things, but never straight lines. I had never – in the four years I’ve had my Janome, used my walking foot or the funny metal bar that it comes with. So I did.
One of the things she mentioned was starting your sewing sessions with 15 to 20 minutes of free motion quilting practice and to practice one design at a time until you master it. So, I am committing to practicing my free motion quilting for 15 minutes a day most days to see how I can improve.
After quilting practice, I worked on the next two Japanese blocks.
I didn’t get as much done in March as I’d like. Watch out April!
