As I said the other day in my
goals post, I’ve decided to participate in A Lovely Year of Finishes. I figured it would be really good motivation to get some of my WIP’s done!
A couple years ago made this zig zagged baby quilt. I really am not crazy about my fabric choices because it is so busy, the zig zags and the cute fabric they are made of kind of blend in. However, I started quilting it last year, set it aside, and there it still sits.
So….. for better or for worse, this is my project for January! I’m going to finish quilting this and bind it and be done with it!
So… any suggestions for the binding? I could use some help!!!!!

About sewwhatscooking
I'm a 40 something wife to Tom and stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to two boys, 11 and 13, stepmom to two lovely girls, and we live in St. Louis, Missouri. I love being with my family, cooking, and quilting. I love to come up with original designs for my quilts and love working with bright, modern fabrics. I also love to crochet, knit, sew, mosaics and more!
For a binding, I’d go with the same blue as you used on the sashing. If you have more of the blue print with that color that you used in the blue zig-zag, I think that would look great.
I think brown or the blue. Probably brown. It is fun and lively. Much better than pastel for a baby.
How do you feel about a solid binding? It’s almost therapeutic to finish those WIPs, isn’t it?
I think I would use a rusty red to kind of “rein it in”. If you don’t love this quilt, I’ll bet a kid staying at a Ronald McDonald House would…just a thought.
Beautiful!
