Something Funny Happened When I Went to Make Placemats….

I have had this seer sucker fabric for a LONG time.  I got it a few years ago at Joann’s when it went on clearance because it was so summery.  I have been meaning to make placemats for my table so I finally pulled it all out and started to play.

First, I cut the fabric up in random sized strips and started sewing them together.  Then cut those sections into random directions and added more strips.  Finally, I cut them into 7 inch blocks.

This is what I have so far – and I love them!  Too much for just placemats, so a QUILT it is!  Maybe a picnic quilt – and I’m calling it Summer Punch.

What do you think?

Hope you have a great day!
