Checking In and Burst into Bloom

Had a good weekend hanging out with my guys.  But man – has it been hot!  You’d think we never moved from Houston!  We are supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow then cool off for a bit.  I sure hope so!

Friday I finished the top of  on my half-square triangle quilt.  Yea!!  Thanks to my sweet husband for patiently standing on a chair and wall and holding up the quilt up for all my pictures!

Sashing Fabric

Saturday night we had Tom’s mom over for dinner and Tom made some fantastic burgers on the grill and I made my Jalapeno Poppers.  We had a great dinner and then watched the movie, The Debt.  It was good and thought provoking. I also got this book!

Texas Eats by Robb Walsh

His books are wonderful and full of rich Texas history and recipes.  This one is no exception!

Today I started piecing the back of my quilt and Tom took a run.  I made a big salad and some homemade vegetable soup and then we went to Barnes & Noble and browsed books.  One of our favorite activities.  I checked out a couple of new quilting magazines – 100 Blocks, Quilty, and Primitive Quilts.  There are so many creative and talented quilters out there!

Anyway ….  That’s all I have for today! Take care!
